Service Dogs, Inc is a Texas-based nonprofit that trains rescue dogs to become service dogs for the mobility and hearing impaired. Each dog requires $40,000 in training and is provided at no cost to their owners. Service Dogs, Inc is funded entirely by grants and donations.

Patton-retrieve-1-with-Elizabeth-e1404752420655-244x300During their 2015 #GivingTuesday fundraising campaign, Service Dogs, Inc increased their average #GivingTuesday gift size from $25 to $75 – an increase of 300% – just days after implementing iDonate.

Janet Duke, Special Projects Manager at Service Dogs, Inc, attributes this increase to iDonate’s mobile platform and wide-ranging gifting options.

Mobile Donations – Accessing Donors Where They Are

iDonate’s platform makes mobile giving extremely easy for donors. “The majority of our donations are coming from mobile devices now,” said Duke. “Our old site did not work well on phones and tablets, and our abandonment rate was very high.” After implementing iDonate, “it was convincing to me to see such an immediate change.”

Wide-Ranging Gifting Options — Many Ways to Give

“In the past, we could only take credit cards,” said Duke. “We had several gifts of stocks and other things, and we’d take them, but they were very difficult to handle. Now, with iDonate, noncash gift options are as easy to receive and process as cash.”

Service Dogs, Inc also enjoys not always paying credit card fees. “We really like the ability to offer the option for the donor to pay fees,” said Duke. “Fees on credit card transactions can be a major cost if you get a lot of transactions, and 71% of our donors opt to pay the fees themselves. That’s a really big impact.”

Fast, Easy Integration

Service Dogs, Inc gives iDonate high marks for ease and speed of integration. “It only took three days from signing the contract to having something up and running,” said Duke, who did the work but is not a Web developer. Service Dogs, Inc also uses Salesforce as their donor management system, and thanks to the iDonate Salesforce connector, integration was easy – even for someone who is not a Salesforce administrator.

“The people at iDonate were fabulous,” said Duke. “One of them helped talk me through it. Their support is really excellent. One of my biggest compliments I’d give to iDonate is having direct access to the people who really know this stuff.”
