An engaged couple from the Northeast were excited to plan their upcoming nuptials and their life together. Sadly, tragedy struck when the man, who had lived with a congenital heart defect since birth, suffered a fatal heart attack.
Following her fiancé’s passing, she had the responsibility of going through all of his possessions. Among his things was a collection of 140 original, dual sided, full color, movie poster prints.
Given her fiancé history of heart trouble, the donor decided to donate the posters to one of the nation’s oldest and largest charities to help fund their innovative research to fight heart disease and stroke.
Because this charity is an iDonate customer, we were able to take possession of all posters and begin marketing them within two weeks of the donation. The collection is in the process of liquidation and is expected to generate $1,500 for the charity.
This donor’s gift is an example of how our possessions – regardless of size, type, or value – can have a lasting impact on those around us long after we are gone.
